Dan Stevens is an English actor. He will be playing Sir Lancelot in Night at the Museum 3.

Career

In 2010, Stevens got his biggest break when he was cast as Matthew Crawley in the ITV series Downton Abbey, created and written by Oscar-winning screenwriter Julian Fellowes. The series went on to be a global sensation, and has been nominated for several Emmy, BAFTA, Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild Awards since its debut. The central love story of Matthew Crawley and his distant cousin, Lady Mary Crawley, played by Michelle Dockery, was enormously popular. Stevens left the series after the third season finished in 2012. His exit caused a huge uproar with fans, who vented on social media in dismay at his beloved character's untimely death.

In 2011, Stevens guest-hosted an episode of Have I Got News For You, which was broadcast 25 November of that year.

In March 2012, he completed shooting two films: Vamps, the latest film from Amy Heckerling, and Summer in February, an Edwardian romance set in an artist colony.

Stevens was a member of the judging panel for the 2012 Man Booker Prize for Fiction, editor-at-large for The Junket, an online quarterly which he co-founded, and is a regular columnist for the Daily Telegraph.

In the Fall of 2012, he moved with his family to New York City, to make his Broadway debut opposite Jessica Chastain and David Strathairn in The Heiress.

Stevens has narrated over 25 audiobooks, including The Angel's Game, Wolf Hall and War Horse. In 2014, he was nominated for two Audie Awards, in the Classic category and Solo Narration (Male) category for Frankenstein.

Since spring of 2013, he has shot six feature films, four of which will be released in the fall of 2014. They include the independent film, The Guest; the dark action film, A Walk Among the Tombstones (opposite Liam Neeson); the dramatic film, The Cobbler (opposite Adam Sandler); and the comedy, Night at the Museum 3 (opposite Ben Stiller, where Stevens plays Sir Lancelot).
