The Woolly Mammoth is an exhibit at the Museum of Natural History.
The Woolly Mammoth is an ancestor to the elephant that was around during the Ice Age. It was hunted by saber-toothed cats and Neanderthals (who hunted it to extinction).
Night at the Museum
In the film, the woolly mammoth is seen walking on the upper levels after Larry Daley thew the bone for Rexy the Tyrannosaurus rex. It was the second exhibit Larry saw come to life after Rexy and before a rhinoceros and some birds. When Larry got to the Hall of African Mammals, he was startled by the animals including some lions and an ostrich, who caused him to back up into the mammoth, causing it to shove him in. Before it did anything else, Larry shut the door and locked it, making the extinct mammal leave after a short while.
After Dexter opens the freight entrance, the woolly mammoth approached the door with a leopard and the rhinoceros. They were later seen outside the museum and heading past a stoplight towards Central Park along with a pair of eskimos on a sled with 5 dogs. The mammoth trumpeted at Dexter as he hung from the stoplight. With help from Ahkmenrah, Larry is able to get the Woolly Mammoth and the rest of the exhibits back to the museum before sunrise.
